Equipment and capability upgrades include a brand-new Tescan Vega 3 scanning electron microscope with EDS analysis, a comprehensive soils lab for corrosivity testing , advanced electrochemical testing techniques(four computerized Gamery systems), coatings shielding of cathodic protection testing, metallurgical failure analysis, onsite corrosion risk assessment and corrosion mitigation through coatings and computer-aided design of cathodic protection. These technologically advanced approaches provide the cornerstone to new understandings of complex agricultural and risk assessment of infrastructure. I am an electrochemical engineer with a focus on advancing agriculture through soil science and sensor innovation. My work centers on designing and applying electrochemical techniques to understand and modify soil chemistry, enabling healthier plant growth and more sustainable farming practices. I also lead the development of cutting-edge sensor technologies that monitor plant health in real time—detecting early signs of stress, nutrient imbalances, or environmental risks. By integrating soil electrochemistry with smart sensing systems, I am driving forward a new generation of agricultural engineering solutions that empower proactive plant care and precision agriculture.

Peyman Taheri, PhD
Peyman Taheri, PhDDirector of Engineering
Dr. Taheri is a Professional Engineer and a member of NACE and ASME. He is experienced in design, modeling, and installation of cathodic protection systems. He has published numerous technical articles on his work. His experience includes electrochemical corrosion research, corrosion risk assessment, and corrosion risk mitigation in power and telecom utility structures.
Alyson Char
Alyson CharGIS Specialist
Alyson earned a B.S. in Geographical Sciences from the University of British Columbia in 2019. She is experienced in LANDSAT imagery and analysis, remote sensing, GIS, soil and atmospheric corrosivity, corrosion risk assessment, and cathodic protection testing/installation. She is the co-owner of a patent for the methodology of soil corrosivity mapping using GIS.

Carolyn Tome – She serves as the team’s administrator and financial analyst, bringing many years of experience in small business management as well as research and development.
