A new approach to monitoring plant and root-zone electrochemical activity.
The Z-Signal Probe helps growers, researchers, landscapers, arborists, greenhouse operators, and plant enthusiasts obtain rapid information about changing conditions around plants and their root systems.
Instead of relying only on visual symptoms after a plant begins to decline, the Z-Signal Probe is designed to provide an early electrochemical indication of changing plant and soil conditions.
Monitor Trends, Not Just Single Readings
Observe changes in soil moisture, temperature, root-zone conditions, soil chemistry, nutrients, plant stress, and seasonal variations—all without waiting for visible symptoms like wilting or discoloration.

Plant Mapping
Every plant has its own unique bioelectrical signature, reflecting its growth, physiological activity, and response to environmental conditions. Using the Matergenics Z-Signal Probe, electrical potentials can be measured and mapped at different locations, including roots, stems, branches, and leaves, revealing variations in voltage throughout the plant. These electrical patterns change with plant health, moisture, nutrients, temperature, and stress. By mapping and monitoring these signals over time, we aim to develop a unique electrical fingerprint for each plant, opening new possibilities for early stress detection, plant health assessment, and precision agriculture.
